Congress Overview

With a gold resource of over 194,000 ounces* and significant ground unexplored, Congress is a prime prospect for economic mineralization. A new and aggressive three-phase exploration program, including both surface and underground work, began in the fall of 2006. Eight gold zones have been discovered to date. Congress holds significant potential for underground lode mining as well as open-pit mining.

Exploration for 2007
As part of our plan to initially increase mineral resources to 500,000 contained ounces of gold, we will conduct drifting and diamond drilling on both the Howard and Lou zones. The new Golden Ledge zone will undergo diamond drilling.

Near the Bralorne-Pioneer Mine
Congress lies just 16 kilometres (10 miles) northeast of the prolific and historic King, Bralorne and Pioneer mines. From 1932 to 1971, these two operations produced 4.1 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 0.52 opt Au. Geological structures on the Congress are roughly the same distance from the Upper Cretaceous-Tertiary granitic Bendor Intrusions as the Bralorne-Pioneer mines. The Bendor Intrusions are a postulated source for gold mineralization at the Bralorne mine.

Long History of Discoveries and Exploration
Although first explored in the early 1900s, the most significant activity has occurred in recent years. Congress was the site of significant exploration and development by Levon in the late 1980's and early 1990's. This work outlined several large, high-grade gold zones and left considerable prospective ground unexplored. The project goal was to block out a sufficient quantity of proven ore grading 0.30 opt Au. Project engineers reported a change in the host rock north of the present workings that could indicate an environment susceptible to higher-grade material. This area was explored in 2005 and 2006 and resulted in discovery of the Golden Ledge zone.

High-Grade Mineralization
Recent trenching on the Golden Ledge zone exposed a 1.0-to-1.5 metre-wide silicified fault zone with gold values up to 26.4 gpt Au (0.848 opt Au). Measured resources in the Howard Zone average 8.7 gpt Au, or 0.254 opt. Indicated resources in the Howard average 11.4 gpt Au, or 0.333 opt. Most Congress resources are refractory in nature and would require oxidation of sulphides to recover gold. On parts of the Lou Zone, however, mineralization has been oxidized for 2-5 metres below surface where an open-pit resource has been outlined.

Geology Related to Bralorne Deposits
The property covers Mississippian to Middle Jurassic rocks of the Bridge River Complex, mainly submarine basalt and andesite, with minor chert, argillite and mafic intrusives (Fig. 3, Map 1). These rocks are cut by northwest trending regional scale structures, some with contained Tertiary feldspar porphyry dacite dykes, sub-parallel to the Ferguson and Cadwallader Structures, which bound the historic Bralorne/Pioneer mines.
