Eagle Claims Overview
The Eagle Claims lie approximately 10 miles (16 kilometers) north-northwest of the Pipeline gold mine. Geology studies show the geological environment is similar to other gold deposits on the Cortez gold trend. The claims lie adjacent to a geochemically anomalous trend identified by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Samples collected from mineralization associated with the low-angle fault zone returned values in silver, arsenic and gold. In particular, grab samples from old workings assayed 0.155, 0.160 and 0.229 oz Au/ton. These values are considerably higher than grades obtained by previous exploration programes.
The presence of strongly-altered upper plate Devonian Slaven cherts and Ordovinian Valmy formation quartzites, etc. indicated that upper plate type detachment fault associated deposits similar to those occurring at the nearby Robertson and Hilltop properties may be present on the Eagle claims.
