Levon Starts Core Drilling At The Congress Property, B.C., Canada
Levon Resources Ltd. ("Levon") is pleased to announce that the 5,000 m Congress core drilling program commenced on November 10, 2007 under a contract with ABC Drilling Services Inc. Initial drill holes are designed to test the dip and strike extensions of mapped and sampled stockwork gold zones within the mineralized Gun Creek intrusive complex, recently recognized, mapped and sampled in Gun Creek canyon on a north part of the property. The core drilling is being run 24 hours per day in two drill shifts.
The first target being tested is stacked gold zones that include the Ogee, the down dip extension of the Gun's Gold Sill and the Gun Creek Gold zone on the south side of Gun Creek canyon. The high grade gold showings were discovered by prospecting. An initial trench rock chip sample in the Gun's Gold Sill showing in July 2007 returned 1m grading 23,000 ppb gold (0.671 troy ounces per short ton gold (opt gold)). Second round traverse rock chip samples confirmed relatively high grade gold and expanded the showing to 9 m grading 3.104 grams/metric tonne (g/mt) gold (including 4 m grading 6.903 g/mt gold or 0.202 opt gold). Gold is associated with stibnite rich, porphyry-style stockwork veins in intrusive rocks exposed in the trench. The Ogee and Gun Creek Gold zone are similar showings in intrusive rocks. Core is being logged on site and will be split and sampled for gold assays and ICP analysis to be performed by Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd., Vancouver, British Columbia. Geologic results will be incorporated into the 3D model as drilling proceeds, to ensure the geologic significance of drill hole results are recognized early to help guide drilling priorities. The drill proposal, which includes sample and geologic results on which it is based, is posted on Levon's website at www.levon.com/s/Congress.asp.
High sulfide and siliceous gold ore standards will be incorporated into the sampling protocol as control samples are being analyzed among split core samples to assure quality control on laboratory assay and geochemical analyses.
Ron Tremblay, President remarked that, "We are pleased to drill test the down dip and strike extensions of gold showings and mapped zones and the new target concepts recently recognized at our Congress property. In the past, only the vein potential of the property has been explored. Early holes of the current drill program are testing porphyry gold controls we have recognized, and these gold controls add a new upside discovery potential at the property. The current drilling is also designed to test the northern strike projection of the Lou Zone high grade vein, Levon discovered in the past."
Levon is a junior gold exploration company with key land positions at Congress, BRX and Wayside in the productive Barlorne gold camp of British Columbia, Canada, and the Norma Sass and Ruf claims near the Pipeline gold deposit being mined (and explored) by Barrick Gold Corporation in the heart of the Cortez Gold Trend in Lander County, Nevada.
